Howlite

Howlite is an opaque, white or ivory borate mineral marked with dark grey, black, or brown web-like veins. Discovered in Nova Scotia in 1868, it is soft and porous, making it popular for carvings, beads, and frequent use as a blue-dyed imitation of turquoise.
